ABOUT THE GREATER LAKES REGION CHILDREN’S FUND

The Greater Lakes Region Children’s Fund, formerly known as the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction, has roots going back to 1982, when a small local fundraiser was started to help children and families in need throughout the Lakes Region. Over the decades, that community effort grew tremendously and has now raised millions of dollars to support local children and families.

In 2026, the organization became the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Fund, reflecting how its mission and fundraising efforts have grown beyond the annual Children’s Auction into year-round community support.

FOSTER’S INVOLVEMENT

Foster’s Tavern became involved with fundraising for the Children’s Fund in 2023, and in late 2024 we began holding Bingo nights as another way to raise money.

What started as a relatively small fundraiser has grown from the ground up into something much bigger because of the support we’ve received from our customers, local businesses, community members, and everyone who has donated, attended, shared our events, or helped us along the way. This event wouldn’t have become what it is without them.

Whether someone has attended Bingo, donated an auction item, contributed money, shared one of our posts, volunteered, or simply helped spread the word, they have played a part in helping us grow this fundraiser and continue supporting local children and families.
